>>686>It's annoying because I just want to see the latest posts but then they're divided into retarded boards. Just make it one board for simplicity and elegance.
If you want simplicity and elegance force the news spammer to put all his rapid dumps into one thread. Even if he makes a new thread every day or twice a day instead of keeping one for a few weeks like other boards do, it will still be a lot cleaner and easier to read than having nearly a dozen new news-article threads every several hours you visit /new/.
It also needlessly kills old threads which might be good with rare discussion topics not empty media content threads.
And most importantly it kills discussion because all the replies would be forced to enter a single thread with several stories there, you would have 10 replies in a single thread every few hours instead of everyone jumping around with 5 people making a total of 6 replies in 10 threads which makes it seem even to regulars like a dying ghost town.
And force the news spammer to get alternative sources at least like Unz.com so we get less Washington Post and PBS or at least less CNN and CBS links and more War Nerd articles.
The term "/new/s" was selected when we were naive kids and didn't know the news was fake. Now we do. But if you made a thread discussing how the news is fake and showing evidence by these current rules you would be banned for posting off-topic and not posting news. As I think is even the case on /pol/. So who made this merchant controlled medium our god? It's time to wake up and smell the coffee.
