Anyone here bought land before? I'm looking for a lot to park an RV right now, and while it seems straightforward I'm wondering if there's something I'm not considering. It's going to be in Florida and I already know to avoid swampland. Pic related: The first advertisement I saw was from this sketchy guy who seems to be selling lots for what appears to be a gated campground.

You're already dead.

I already live there, and it would be very inconvenient to leave the state. And for all the things you can say about Florida, at least you don't get raped by red-tape and taxes.

living in an RV is barely one step above living in a van down by the river and a step below living in a trailer. what kind of people do you think you'll be living next to?

>what kind of people do you think you'll be living next to?
Practically speaking, I should be isolated enough that I won't have any neighbors, but if my last visit to the area I'm looking at is any indication, I'll be living near BASED hicks who offer me fish and beer, and have wives that are about 30 years younger than them.

To be clear here, I am buying actual acreage, not some shitty rental space at a trailer park.

I've bought land twice before. It's as simple as it seems. Make sure the land doesn't have and weird liens or something stupid like a strata I guess.

Also uh, if there's running water on the property like river you can't build anything near it or the EPA will freak out, and seeing as how you're in florida you should make sure it isn't a floodplain.

I bought land in Florida last year. You need to check your land thoroughly because there's always a high chance it's swampland

If there's any sort of gated community it's guaranteed to have stupid HOA rules, like you need to have a camper newer than 2018 within certain size perimeters. Always avoid communities if you just want land because they will peck you to death with their stupidity

This is true but I heard the way people get around this is by putting campers on the land so they're not altering the course of water at all- because the structure is 100% above ground and mobile

That's what I've been told, but there might be other stuff I'd want to build on it eventually. Like a chicken coop or something.

Just put wheels or sleds on your chicken coop to make it "mobile"
